Basic shopping

While I do own quite a few items of clothing that are from thrift stores, and I do have some pieces from local boutiques, I'd say that the majority of my clothes are from only a few stores, namely: Anthropologie, Gap, H&M, Forever 21, Target, and Urban Outfitters. And maybe when I'm older and don't have student loan debt I'll shop at higher-end stores and local stores, but for now those stores fulfill most of my clothing needs. They provide me with both the basics that I need (like this skirt and sweater) and the unnecessary but fun pieces that I buy on impulse (like this vest).

Sweater: Target
Skirt: Gap
Vest and tights: Forever 21
Boots: Jessica Simpson from Macy's
Earrings: church craft fair
Necklace: Dress Barn
Belt: thrifted from Goodwill

  1. I would say those are where a lot of my clothes come from as well, and we all need those fun unnecessary pieces in our closets!

  2. That's such a great vest, F21 does have its gems. I tend to get most of my clothes from the thrift store, and then spend the money I've saved up on either something handmade or something vintage. I'm not big on cheap fast-fashion, seems like I can get more bang for my buck elsewhere.

  3. I totally agree. For me, Kohl's is another store of mine that I frequent for the necessities. I love your vest! It is so pretty and fun! This vest is why I love thrifting and vintage shops. You can't find these great pieces in department stores now a days!

  4. I wish I could shop more at local boutiques, so I hear you, but I do love a good bargain sweater every now and then :)

  5. Visiting from Monday Mingle.
The crochet dress is very pretty and I love how you layered it.

  7. SUCH a fantastic combination. OOOH I love all the flowy-ness :) So cute, and it looks warm. Cute and warm are sometimes hard to reconcile!
    I love it!

  8. I LOVE that vest. It's not something I usually gravitate towards, but your styling here is brilliant and makes me want to run out and get my own. Today. And then copy you (don't worry, I'll give you full credit).

As for me, the majority of my clothes are thrifted (I too have some serious student loans) and I'm happy with that. For now. ;-)
