Burnout

I had major burnout yesterday, and absolutely did not want to wear any of my 30 for 30 clothes. So I didn't. I figured it's okay to take a break, right? This is along the lines of me allowing myself to eat chocolate and potato chips in moderation, because when I don't let myself eat those things I eventually end up bingeing on a whole bag of chips in one sitting. (Then that must mean that if I do the 30 for 30 long enough without a break, I'll binge by wearing all my clothes at once?) Plus, I missed my prints. Most of my 30 for 30 items are solid colors because I thought they would remix well, but the majority of my closet is actually prints and not solids. Prints are like my crack. (That's a saying, right?)

I made this necklace from some hex nuts I found at the hardware store and some twine that I bought at the Dollar Tree. I'm going to guess that it cost me about 50 cents to make. I loosely based it off this braided hex nut bracelet when I realized that my hands weren't dexterous enough to make the bracelet. If any of you are really interested in learning how to make it, let me know and I can post a tutorial. It was super easy.

Dress: vintage (can't remember where I bought it!)
Coat: free from my mom (from an estate sale)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Macy's
Necklace: self made
Bracelet: gift from Josh, from Kanelstrand
Belt: thrifted from Goodwill

  1. I'm SO mad I passed on the Danys when I found them on sale at the Rack. Le sigh. You look awesome! Love the dress.

  3. I LOVE your dress! The colors and stripes totally make it. You also really make me want to find a pair of vegan Dani platforms somewhere because they look great with this outfit!
