I've always felt that one of those unspoken fashion rules is that you should never wear more than one leopard print item in an outfit, but I decided to try it anyway on Sunday afternoon, and ended up loving it. I don't think I'd ever wear a leopard print skirt and leopard print shoes together, but I liked the look of the matching hat and shoes.
Last year I actually tried on the sweater and the pants together at Anthropologie and loved the color combination, but it took until now to wear them together officially. When my mom saw this outfit she said, "Those are...interesting colors." And as long as someone thinks my outfit is interesting, I'm satisfied. They don't even have to like it, as long as it catches their eye.
Blue sweater: Anthropologie
Jean jacket: thrifted from Rerun
Rust colored corduroy pants: Anthropologie
Leopard print heels: Sam Edelman from Nordstrom Rack
Leopard print hat: Albertus Swanepoel for Target
Wooden earrings: church craft fair
Gold watch: free from a family member
Gold bracelets: In Pink
Brown belt: thrifted from Goodwill
AMazing pants!! Love them! I like that you matched your shoes and your hat together! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teaka! These are definitely my favorite pair of pants :)
DeleteLove the subtle double leopard Stacie! Great pants too! I get the "that's . . . interesting" comment all the time. Ah well. Say le vi I guess.
ReplyDeleteAfter so many years of getting annoyed when people told me my clothes were "interesting," I have now chosen to take those comments as compliments!
DeleteThose pants are HOT. I love the leopard, of course. Doesn't everyone? :)

Yep, I'm pretty sure leopard print is universally adored :)
DeleteThis outfit is killer! I love it! It looks great on you. The rust and royal blue go together wickedly, and I dig the multiple leopard accessories. I personally think it's great to have multiples of a pattern but it helps if they are separated by a solid, so you're not top or bottom 'heavy' with a particular pattern.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - matching patterns definitely need to be separated by a solid color or a different pattern, unless you're going for a "Lady Gaga in head-to-toe houndstooth" type of look :)
DeleteI love your leopard print hat. I often mix a couple of pieces of leopard print together, but only in small doses like your hat and shoe combo - don't wanna end up looking like road kill! ;)

I now like the look of more than one leopard print piece in an outfit - but yes, I don't want to look like road kill, so I'll try to steer clear of wearing, say, my leopard print blouse with this hat :)
DeleteLove this look!! You look gorgeous :) especially love the pants and the watch <3
ReplyDeletelove your sweater and hat and that watch is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love how you combined the flower print pants with the striped shirt! it looks great!
