Neutralized

I considered dressing exactly like the weather in only grays and whites, but the thought was too depressing, so I added in some pops of pink to brighten things up! Apparently I'm not very good at creating outfits that consist entirely of neutral colors - I almost always end up reaching for bright colors, even if they're just accents. I see other people wear outfits that are full of neutrals and I think they look gorgeous, but whenever I put on an outfit like that my brain ends up saying, "But where's the color?"

White shirt: H&M
Brown faux fur coat: gift from my mom, found at an estate sale
Gray skirt: thrifted from William Temple House, hemmed by me
Gray tights: Target
White wedges: Sam Edelman (Kendall wedges) from Piperlime
Pink headband: Forever 21
Gold necklace: free from my aunt
Pink necklace: gift shop at Legacy Emanuel Hospital
Pink belt: Gap
White stone cuff bracelet: In Pink

  1. I feel much the same lately, and although I will still wear the all neutral outfit, it just doesn't feel quite right. I really like the contrast of the pale shoes to the dark tights.

  2. The skirt is very pretty close up - I like the detail. And the bracelet! Neato

  3. Neutral colours can be so blah anyways. The extra pop of colour would make that grey sky jealous of you! :)

  6. I couldn't agree with you more. Megan of Megan Mae Daily had a Neutrals Week challenge last month and I was like "this will be cake" . . . but it wasn't. I could not help incorporating color into my outfits.

This is seriously one of my favorite looks of yours, though I feel that I say that all the time to you. The shoes are my favorite part, but that bracelet is fantastic as well. Great job! Let's kick this old dreary winter's butt!

  7. That bracelet is fantastic. And I'm the same way about neutrals. They are crazy hard for me.

  8. I love gray! It started with gray cardigans but now I also want to wear my gray tights all the time, probably because they're thick and keep me warm. Cute outfit!

  10. I think you did the right thing. The touches of pink ad just the right amount of color.
