This is hardly an inspiring outfit, but man, it's been a long time since I last posted, so I thought I'd put it on here anyway. I wore this on Saturday to ScanFair, a festival put on by the Scandinavian Heritage Foundation in Portland every December. The women in my family have a tradition of attending every year, and buying each other Christmas presents there and eating delicious Scandinavian foods, like æbleskiver, and fruit soup and rice pudding.
I try not to pick on my appearance in blog photos too much, but today if I had a magic Photoshop wand that I could wave, I would fix the odd grimace/smile in the top photo (people were staring at me), my apparently missing eyebrows (they really don't show up well in photos), and the droopiness of the scarf (which is supposed to button neatly at the neck, but clearly didn't cooperate).
Striped blouse: Forever 21
Leather jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors from Nordstrom Rack
Jeans: Levi's
Flats: ShoeMint
Necklace: Bauble Bar
Scarf: made by me
I always have the same weird face (not that yours is weird) when people are nearby my photos. Like the ones on Friday? People everywhere. This sounds like an awesome tradition you and your family have. And I happen to like the casual looks on bloggers just as much as the dolled up ones. I love the striped blouse!
ReplyDeleteI love Scandinavian festivals! In my hometown there's one every year, I was "Miss Scandinavia" and got to be queen of the maypole. It was the best day of my life (I kid). Your outfit is very cute. I love that it's brightened up with the scarf.
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a fun fair - what kinds of gifts did you buy this year?

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool tradition!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome to be kind to ourselves, and I am always really impressed that so many bloggers manage to do their pics with other people around at all - I don't know how I would ever!
I'm really into patent leather right now--great shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of orange color! So nice! :) Found you on Mom Trends! I'm hosting a linky party too if you'd like to join the fun!
