Gray and green

Sometimes my family thinks I'm funny for reasons I don't understand. Like yesterday when my aunt saw this outfit, she laughed and said, "Only you would wear a gray top with a bright green patterned skirt." And I could not figure out why that was so odd - I mean, I thought a gray top was a tame, nearly dull choice. But apparently to some people, it's an out-of-the-box choice, probably because it doesn't match the skirt - people in my family like for things to match.

I wasn't a huge fan of this outfit, but it was okay considering I was in a hurry when assembling it. I do think I should have swapped the beige boots for black shoes, though. So to make this post more interesting, here's an awesome photo of a bee that I took in my parents' garden this past weekend...

Gray sweater: free from my aunt
Green skirt: Anthropologie
Beige wedge boots: Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Oscar de la Renta from TJ Maxx
Black necklace: Urban Outfitters
Gray bracelet: self-made

  2. This green skirt is so snazzy...and on trend with the bright colours and tribal print. Love that the waistband is detailed, makes it even more special!

    1. Thanks! I do take an unreasonably large number of insect photos - even after a few years, I still haven't gotten over the novelty of having a camera nice enough to take close-ups of insects!

  4. I agree with you: the gray was a tame (but lovely) choice. And the green skirt is great! : )

  6. Next time you can just laugh at HER and say "well aren't you just the funniest thing that you don't realize how chic grey is with green! You're just darling when you sound so naive!" You could pinch her cheek for good measure... >:)
