This was my first time wearing a shorts-and-blazer combo, and I loved it. I felt dressy and casual at the same time. I'm still amazed at the quality of this blazer. I got it at Forever 21, which as most of you know is notorious for producing garments that fall apart after a few wears. But I could tell when I picked it up in the store last fall that it was really well made, and that's why I was willing to spend $30 on it, which is a low price for a blazer but a high price for anything from Forever 21.
The top photo is a rare thing - a photo of me smiling with my teeth showing where I don't look like a huge dweeb. (Yes, I just used the word "dweeb." In my head, it's still the '90s.) I smile and laugh all the time (and have the wrinkles to prove it), but I'm never self-conscious about it unless I see a photo of myself flashing a toothy grin. Then I get all insecure and all I can think about are how gigantic my teeth look. It doesn't help that boys in elementary school made fun of my huge teeth, and that after Josh first met me he told his sister that I had really big teeth. (And then apparently he found it necessary to tell me that after we were married. I'd be offended, but he did, after all, marry me.) All that to say...it's actually kind of a big deal that I like the photo above. Now if only it didn't look like my eyebrows were missing...
Wrinkly boots! That's what I get for only paying $10 for them...

You look lovely smiling and don't be so hard on yourself.Your looks are cool. On to the outfit ,I know I can't pull this look it's not age appropriate on me but on you it looks fantastic, really.I sometimes pay more on things that i like and are of good quality but alas not lately.
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet! Thank you!
DeleteGirl you have a beautiful smile!!!! Show it!! But I totally know what you mean because I HATE my teeth and never smile in my pictures. Or really in real life. Which is why everything thinks I'm a snob or a witch. But I digress . . .
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your boots. Sorry they are wrinkled, but seriously. They are too cute. And I love the shorts and blazer combo. It works so well in the warmer months. Enjoy your weekend Stacey!
Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one who tries to avoid smiling in photos. If I could perform a shrinking spell on my teeth like Hermione Granger, I would :)
DeleteIt's date night tonight and I was thinking of wearing a crisp white blazer with a pair of shorts. Just might do it, thanks to you. I love the look!
ReplyDeleteGlad I could inspire!
DeleteI love your look!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!!

Thank you!
DeleteStacey I love the seeing the photos of you smiling, I think because your usual smiles are so mysterious... then you occasionally break out a grin - I love it!! (Though I know what you mean about smiling in real life/smiling for blog photos - I have a "good" and "bad" smiling side; I often face the same way in my blog photos to get my good side, and I insist on standing on the right side of my husband for photos. It's tiring!!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway...! I love this look on you - you look amazing in a shorts/tights combo and as always the colours suit you beautifully. The little touch of pink in the sweater is perfect. You look smokin', smiley girl!!!
Have a great weekend

I love that you have a good and bad smiling side! Josh thinks my smile looks the same from both sides, but I know it looks better on my left side :)
