Summertime

Outfit photos have been a rather hurried affair this week. Every day so far Josh has worked his regular eight hours, plus six or seven hours in the evening. So while we get to eat lunch and dinner together, we've hardly seen each other besides that, and that never leaves time for walking to a pretty location for photos and taking our time getting them just right. Instead, we run outside, snap about forty of them in five minutes, and I have to be satisfied with whatever we get. At least we only have a few more weeks of this crazy work schedule of his, and I can't complain about the overtime pay!

Since Portland nearly reached 80 degrees yesterday, I wore the summeriest things I could find - a lightweight dress, a shirt knotted at the waist, gold sandals, and my straw bag. I kind of felt like I was dressed for a day at the beach.

Blue and white dress: thrifted
White blouse: free from my aunt
Gold sandals: Asos
Straw purse: thrifted
White flower necklace: purchased in Oahu
Yellow bracelet: In Pink

    1. I know, it's so nice of him! I'm lucky to have a husband who's willing to do photos for me even when he doesn't have much time off work.

  2. I love the bag so much! Straw bags are my go to bags in the hot weather. And whats cool is I have almost the same necklace and I bought mine in Hawaii too! Lovely! You husband is very sweet, mine takes all my photos too! The patience they must have! LOL!

  3. Oh dear that would be a really hard schedule to get used to! And perfectly impossible for pictures! But I am glad you got pictures of this one! I love the blue in that dress--it is a very pretty color on you! And your straw bag and flower necklace are the perfect accessories!

    1. Yeah, it's pretty miserable - but we just keep thinking about the fun vacation we'll be able to go on next year because of all the overtime pay, and it makes it kind of worth it!

  4. about 40 pics? Oh man! I might be doing this all wrong (I take 10-15 with the timer and the tripod). I think your pics are just as nice today as usual!

The pattern and color of the dress is great and I love the yellow bracelet!

    1. Maybe I overdo the photos - generally we have 60 or 70 on a non-rushed day! I'm not very photogenic, so it takes a LOT of photos before I end up with one or two that I think look decent.

  6. They don't look like hurried photos and the straw bag smells summer no doubt.Busy schedules are the worst but as long as it's for a while it doesn't matter.

    1. Thanks - the photos really did turn out well, considering the time rush. When I first started blogging I was super picky about my photos, and we would take like 150 at a time! Ahhh! But now I've learned to be satisfied with photos that are okay as opposed to amazing.
